2012 FCS playoff schedule: 1st round begins Saturday

The 2012 FCS playoffs begin Saturday with four first-round games.

The 2012 FCS football playoffs begin on Saturday with the first round of games -- the full bracket schedule is here. Eight of the 20 teams will be in action on Saturday, cutting the field down to 16 teams.

Saturday's action will begin with Colgate traveling to face Wagner. Both teams went 8-3 during the regular season. Their first-round matchup is set to kick off at 12 p.m. ET. The winner will go on to face the No. 2 seed Eastern Washington Eagles in the second round. Behune-Cookman will host Coastal Carolina in the second game of the day, which will kick off at 2 p.m. ET. The winner will advance for a matchup with No. 4 Old Dominion.

Both of the late games are scheduled for 3 p.m. ET. Eastern Illinois will travel to South Dakota to face South Dakota State. Those teams will play for the right to face the No. 1 seed in the tournament, North Dakota State. The final first-round game features 8-3 Villanova traveling to face 9-2 Stony Brook. The winner will advance to face No. 3 Montana State.

All four games will be broadcast on ESPN3.
