The Alabama Crimson Tide sealed their berth to the 2013 BCS National Championship game with a 32-28 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. Here are the video highlights of the 2012 SEC Championship game.
Georgia was the first to strike with a methodical 87-yard drive, capped off by Aaron Murray finding Jay Rome for a 19 yard touchdown strike. Alabama tied the game with an Eddie Lacy 41 yard touchdown rush, and a Crimson Tide field goal before halftime made it 10-7 Alabama.
Georgia seemed to wrest control away with two touchdowns. The Bulldogs went up 21-0 thanks to a Todd Gurley three yard touchdown rush and a blocked field goal returend all the way by Alec Ogeltree. Alabama would respond by pounding the ground, getting two rushing scores with T.J. Yeldon and Lacy.
Georgia retook the lead almost immediately on a quick five play drive that saw Murray connect with Tavarres King for 45 yards and had Gurley plunge it into the end zone with a ten yard rush. AJ McCarron then found Amari Cooper for a 45 yard touchdown with four minutes left to give the Tide a 32-28 lead.
After the teams traded punts, Georgia managed one final drive. Murray found Arthur Lynch for 15 and 26 yards and King for 23 yards to set up first and goal at the goal-line. But with seconds remaining, Murray's pass to the back of the end zone was batted and caught by Chris Conley short of the goal-line. With no timeouts left, the clock ran out, and Alabama held on for the win.
