We've already judged each bowl for its Watchability and made our straight-up picks for each. We'll also have against-the-spread picks coming as bowl season winds up, but for now, let's take a look at how all the spreads stack up, via our odds bros at OddsShark.com. (They'll have odds updates there all throughout bowl season, so head there for the latest.)
Not every line is in yet, but 31 games have openers. Three are pick-'ems, and with two of those (Kent State-Arkansas State and UCLA-Baylor) also ranking very high on our Watchability rankings, we could already have a very good look at the must-watch undercard games of the year. TCU-Michigan State, however, ... [/shudders].
On the other end, Oklahoma State and its top 5 offense predictably towers over Purdue, which fired its coach after going 6-6. The Sugar and Orange are granted mighty spreads, and Texas Tech-Minnesota is expected to be as big a laugher as its very name implies. Even if those teams were both very good, something called "Texas Tech-Minnesota" does not sound like a great football game.
