Butch Jones turns down Colorado, according to multiple reports

Butch Jones and the Buffaloes have reportedly gone their separate ways on Thursday, as the Colorado coaching search will continue.

Talks have ceased between the Colorado Buffaloes and current Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Butch Jones, as the two sides have parted ways after much speculation, according to both FootballScoop.com and Kyle Ringo on Thursday. This, of course, means instant speculation that he could be looking to the Tennessee job.

For more on where the Buffaloes will possibly go from here in their search for the next head football coach at Colorado, stay up to date on everything here.

Though both Jones and the Buffaloes are "wishing each other the best," according to FootballScoop.com, this news means Colorado will not be landing the guy some fans wanted to come and turn the football program around.

The announcement comes after reports on Wednesday that stated Jones was all but a certainty to become the Buffaloes' next head coach. These were reports that Jones also denied on Wednesday as he became aware of them.

Jones has guided Cincinnati to a 9-3 overall record (5-2 in the Big East) this season, as the Bearcats won four of their final five games. They will face the Duke Blue Devils in the Belk Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 27.
