Matt Elam and Sharrif Floyd, two of Florida's best defensive players, made the expected a reality on Wednesday as theyboth announced they would declare for the 2013 NFL Draft.
While the announcement came following Florida's loss in the Sugar Bowl, it has been expected for some time. Elam, a safety, was selected as a first-team All-American while Floyd was selected first-team All-SEC at defensive tackle. Both players are projected as first round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Floyd recorded two sacks in the Sugar Bowl. He finished the season with three sacks and 46 tackles including 13 tackles for loss. Elam racked up 11 tackles against Louisville, finishing the season with 76 tackles, two sacks and four interceptions.
Elam and Floyd have made their decisions, but two more Florida juniors remain undecided. Defensive end Dominique Easley and tight end Jordan Reed remain undecided on whether they will return to school or opt for the NFL, according to the Florida Times-Union.
