Jadeveon Clowney wasn't supposed to play in South Carolina's spring game. He's injured -- nothing serious, but not worth risking in a meaningless exhibition. And, of course, you probably don't want him killing teammates in a spring game either. But that doesn't mean he didn't get in on the action on Saturday.
Here's Clowney catching a touchdown -- by running off the sideline without a helmet -- out of nowhere. It's the perfect spring game highlight.
The touchdown counted, despite the lack of helmet and pads, and the fact that he fell down. This was a spring game and there are no rules. The rules are made up as we go, and the point is to both have fun and not suffer an injury.
More importantly, though, this is scary. The last thing I'd ever want to see is Jadeveon Clowney barreling down the field as a receiver. He could do it -- not many defensive linemen can -- and it wouldn't evens seem out of place.
Clowney is a freak, and that's a great thing.
