From one defensive lineman to another. Wait, no. Devin Gardner's wearing No. 98, but he's actually a quarterback.

YOU DIDN'T TAKE THE SAFETY

The catch by Notre Dame defensive end Stephon Tuitt was reviewed, but the original ruling of a touchdown was upheld. That actually worked out in the Irish's favor since the following extra point sailed wide right. Notre Dame got a chance to re-kick in all the confusion and converted the second time around.

Devin Gardner, who's played a wonderful game so far (he has 315 total yards and four touchdowns), made the mistake that's brought the score to 34-27 with 12 minutes to go.
