Coaches Poll Top 25, Week 3: Oregon overtakes Ohio State at No. 2

Take a look at the poll movement after a busy second week of college football.

USC is out of the Week 3 Coaches Poll after a home loss to Washington State, while Georgia, Michigan and Miami are all rising after big home wins. Meanwhile, South Carolina, Florida, Notre Dame and Texas all fall after Week 2 losses. The Baylor Bears are in, after a 70-13 drubbing of Buffalo, as is Ole Miss.

The Coaches Poll is a weekly event in which coaches across the country ask their media relations departments to submit their ballots of the top 25 teams in the country. Right now, it doesn't matter -- people generally use the AP Poll to denote rankings -- but in a crazy turn of events, it is a part of the BCS, meaning it will play a part in determining who plays for a national title. Thus, the latest Coaches Poll update is an important news item that could actually alter the BCS race.
