Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston is gearing up to lead his Florida State Seminoles in their national title appearance against the Auburn Tigers, and he's in full form with the media.
Winston's head coach, Jimbo Fisher, has been rumored to be a target for the open head coaching job at Texas, and the quarterback says he teases his coach about the talk.
Jameis Winston says he messes w jimbo fisher about leaving for #texas all the time. "I'm gonna ask, 'can I go with u?' He's my coach"

Later on, Winston said that he was not joking when making the remark, but it's hard to imagine the Heisman winner sacrificing a year of playing football when, in all likelihood, he leaves for the NFL Draft after next season.
Winston said he was "serious" about leaving w Jimbo if Fisher left for #Texas to also go to UT. Didn't look serious when he said it fwiw.

Winston has repeatedly said that he wanted to go to Texas, but that the staff there did not recruit him. Former Texas head coach Mack Brown has refuted those claims, which were made again by Winston Friday.

The game will be played Monday, and Texas is expected to make its hire soon after. Louisville head coach Charlie Strong, Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin and UCLA head coach Jim Mora are also rumored to be major candidates.
