All-America Oregon DB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu out Playoff due to injury, per reports

Top Oregon cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu suffered a major knee injury in practice, according to Yahoo! Sports' Rand Getlin and CSNNW.com's Aaron Fentress, and is expected to miss the rest of the season. The Ducks will play Florida State in the Rose Bowl on January 1, with a trip to the College Football Championship on the line.

Fentress adds: "Starting in place of Ekpre-Olomu will likely be either senior cornerback Dior Mathis or redshirt freshman Chris Seisay."

Oregon has yet to confirm the news. We'll update with the official word.

Ekpre-Olomu was a consensus All-American this season and has been First-Team All-Pac-12 three years in a row. He would've been expected to deal with top FSU receiver Rashad Greene for much of the Rose Bowl, if healthy.

His injury would be one of many suffered by the Ducks this year. Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota has lost multiple players from his receiving corps and offensive line throughout. Both Rose Bowl teams have dealt with inordinate amounts of attrition all season long, in fact, as FSU contended with a hampered defensive front seven.
