Who needs bowl prep when you can just hurl bombs at a team you're not even playing again this year?

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is a former walk-on at two different schools. He didn't receive an FBS scholarship offer out of high school, and like most hyper-competitive athletes, he took that pretty personally.

Fast forward a few years, and he's a star for the Sooners, but that doesn't mean he's forgotten about the teams that didn't offer him as a recruit. When asked about it at an Orange Bowl media session on Monday, Mayfield said the offer that never came that hurt him the most was TCU.

"TCU," he replied without hesitation. "They told me they were gonna offer me a scholarship and kind of drug it out, and I told other schools I wasn't interested because I thought I was going to go there, and I truly believed they were going to offer me because they told me that. They disappointed me and kind of hung me out to dry right before signing day."

TCU head coach Gary Patterson, himself a man prone to getting pretty fired up, had some curt words for Mayfield in response.
