2015 College Football Playoff betting odds: Alabama, Oklahoma open as favorites

New, comments

Clemson is an underdog despite the No. 1 seed.

SB Nation 2015 Bowl Calendar

The College Football Playoff field has been released, and Oklahoma and Alabama are early favorites to beat Clemson and Michigan State to play in the national final.

The Crimson Tide will have a distinct geographic advantage against the Spartans in this year's Cotton Bowl semifinal. The Tide has played several neutral-site games at AT&T Stadium and figure, based on geography alone, to have a nice home-field advantage. But Michigan State won a non-Playoff version of the Cotton Bowl in the Cowboys' stadium last year, against Texas school Baylor – so the Spartans aren't likely to be intimidated by a big point spread.

Clemson being an underdog in the Orange Bowl as the No. 1 overall seed is perhaps a little surprising, but it makes some sense given Oklahoma's remarkable level of play over the last few weeks of the regular season.

Both national semifinals will be played on New Year's Eve.
