Bobby Bowden says Jameis Winston considered 'an embarrassment' to FSU

The legendary Seminoles coach has publicly criticized the new Buccaneers QB before.

Jameis Winston's Florida State career is done, as the QB was the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.

But that doesn't mean people in Tallahassee are done talking about him. Longtime Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden was on Paul Finebaum's show Tuesday, and he had this to say:

"An embarrassment in some ways," is the complete part of that quote.

"He won a lot of ball games, probably one of the best football players that ever attended Florida State, but he hurt himself off the field. The good news is, he's young enough to get over that," Bowden added. "But he's gotta do that. You just can't make those junior high school decisions that he made when he was in college."

The segment:

I don't exactly think there's a "consensus" of Florida State fans. I get the impression many, many Seminoles fans are proud of the QB for his college and developing pro accomplishments.

Bowden hasn't been a big fan of Winston's. In October, he said Winston "does things kids in grammar school would do" after the quarterback was suspended for yelling obscene memes on a campus table, following multiple other controversies of varying degrees of severity.
