REALIGNMENT BACK? Oklahoma president David Boren kickstarted everyone's favorite rumor mill on Wednesday, stating he'd prefer the Big 12 have 12 teams rather than it's current total of 10. Boren is only one voice in the Big 12, but he's one of the most important.
Big 12 expansion will always be a math problem, meaning schools will be for it if they can turn a 12-team conference into a bigger bottom line. That might be tough to do when you go from dividing the Playoff revenue pie into 12 pieces rather than 10.
However, the Big 12 commissioner did make clear that its TV money would automatically grow upon expansion -- it's often been assumed otherwise -- meaning a big part of the pie would grow.
Bowlsby confirms pro rata clause in TV contracts would match shares if league expands. But revenue from NCAA, CFP would be split more ways.

Expect the same list of rumored candidates as ever: Boise State, BYU, Cincinnati, UCF and maybe somebody else.
Regardless, this won't be over quickly, and I'm sure it will drag on well beyond our patience for it. College football!
Champs? It's pretty straightforward for Clemson this year: If QB Deshaun Watson is healthy and fully operational, the Tigers should be in the ACC driver's seat.
But still. Every Alabama assistant got a raise this summer ... except for Lane Kiffin. I mean, it's because he's still getting paid a generous buyout from USC, but this is the Internet and we're here to make jokes about Lane Kiffin.
Offer a rapper's son a scholarship today. Former UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel admitted that Diddy's son, Justin Combs, wouldn't have gotten a scholarship offer if it wasn't for his father's fame. Here's why your team should offer famous sons scholarships.
Elsewhere in Diddy, TMZ sources accuse UCLA's strength coach of engaging in "psychological warfare" against Diddy's son, to Bruins Nation's disgust.
Unbalanced. There's only one team in the SEC East that's keeping pace with the SEC West in recruiting, and that's Georgia.
Oh. Former NFL head coach and longtime coordinator/retread prototype Jim Haslett joined the Penn State coaching staff as a consultant.
Crootin'!
- Baylor landed commitments from a pair of 2017 four-stars in wide receiver Hezekiah Jones and quarterback Kellen Mond.
- Four-star offensive tackle Devery Hamilton committed to Michigan.
- Arkansas landed a 6'6, 230-pound tight end in Grayson Gunter, who's unrated but holds offers from both Mississippi schools.
- UConn picked up three-star defensive back Eddie Hahn.
Simply unnatural. Nick Chubb is 5'11, 230 pounds, and can dunk a basketball. I'm 6'3 and I can't touch the rim. I'll be over here, making lemonade from life's lemons, then probably giving that lemonade to Nick Chubb.
Baseball! Virginia wins the college version of it.
