The Wildcats were great, lucky, mediocre, and just about everything else in 2014. They're not favored to repeat as division champs, but there are reasons nobody's writing them off.

Bet against Stanford at your own risk
It takes faith to call Stanford a contender despite losing so much on defense, but each of the Cardinal's primary concerns -- run offense, defensive line play, secondary play, special teams -- have been strengths in recent history.

UCLA is loaded with experience and just brought in a new, proven defensive coordinator; if the Bruins' quarterback can at least play steady, reliable ball, their top-10 projections could come to fruition.

Oregon begins the season as the Pac-12 favorite, but any of five teams could make surprise-free conference title runs. The Pac-12 is loaded this year, especially in the South.

Beavers made a good hire, but the Pac-12 is hard
Oregon State made a slam dunk hire in Gary Andersen, and his staff is impressive. But the two-deep is devoid of almost any proven play-makers outside of the skill positions, and Andersen gets a mulligan year because of it.

Wazzu already had little margin for error before injuries and bad breaks led to a 3-9 spiral, but the Cougs have a deeper, faster, more experienced squad this time around.
