Coaches complaining about Notre Dame's schedule should look at their own

A bunch of college football head coaches are complaining about Notre Dame at the moment. I don't know why.

The Irish don't have a conference in football, as has been the case for eternity, and this is suddenly a serious problem now that there's a College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame doesn't have to play a 13th opponent in a conference championship, you see, which is an unfair advantage. We all saw how playing only 12 games helped Baylor in the rankings versus Ohio State. It's amazing Dabo Swinney considers a schedule that includes an FCS opponent and a Sun Belt opponent to be a 13-game schedule, but ...

Among the recent powers whose coaches have complained about Notre Dame, here are some regular-season opponents either from the last five years or on upcoming schedules, via FBSchedules.com. You'll spot a lot of FCS teams, former FCS teams and lower mid-majors! I didn't include anywhere near all the mid-majors! Some even get to play Syracuse!

(Notre Dame does mix in non-powers and low non-powers, but it's worth noting it has never played an FCS team and its schedules tend to rank around the average power-conference team's, no matter how you want to figure that.)
