West Virginia and Pittsburgh will resurrect the Backyard Brawl from 2022-2025, the Mountaineers announced Thursday. The two teams have not played since West Virginia left the Big East for the Big 12 after the 2011 season. Pittsburgh left the conference for the ACC after the 2012 season.
The four-game series will start Sept. 17, 2022 in Pittsburgh, and will alternate home teams each year. The 2023 game will be played Sept. 16 at Morgantown, the 2024 contest will be Sept. 14 in Pittsburgh, and the final scheduled date is Sept. 13, 2025 in Morgantown.

Oh and hey, how about those first three letters? It's not even the first time this year Holgorsen has told Pitt to eat ... well, you know.
Pittsburgh holds a 61-40-3 all-time lead in the series, which began in 1895. The Mountaineers have won three in a row against the Panthers and have generally dominated the series over the past few decades, with a 15-8-1 record against Pitt since 1988.
