Alabama opens as 8.5-point favorite against Ole Miss

The Rebels face an uphill battle to pull the upset again.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The week has come for Alabama to get revenge for its loss to Ole Miss last season, and the Crimson Tide are home favorites by more than a touchdown, according to OddsShark. The Rebels have looked solid in dominating two cupcakes to open the season, but Alabama has arguably the most talented team in the country, and the Tide were dominant in their big opener against Wisconsin.

There are plenty of snoozers this week as non-conference season rolls on — Oregon will spot Georgia State almost 50 points — but there are some intriguing lines to watch. After a scare against Jacksonville State, Auburn opens as a 6.5-point underdog at LSU, which just won at Mississippi State. Despite losing Malik Zaire for the season and needing last-second heroics against Virginia, Notre Dame is a two-point favorite against Georgia Tech and its high-powered offense. And oh, how Texas has fallen. The Longhorns were dominated by Notre Dame in week one and looked lackluster against Rice in week two, and now they are home underdogs to Cal in week three.

We will update as more lines come in.
