In case you were wondering if things could get any crazier at LSU this week, they just did. After re-aggravating an ankle injury in the fourth quarter against Auburn last week, Leonard Fournette will miss tonight’s game against Missouri, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

The ankle has bothered Fournette since mid-August when he initially sprained it during a training camp scrimmage. He was spotted in a walking boot but it was expected to get better.

Now the Tigers will have to look elsewhere for someone to anchor an offensive attack interim coach Ed Orgeron has said won’t look much different from what LSU was already doing. That means Derrius Guice will be counted on early and often.

Guice is a more than serviceable backup who rushed for 161 yards last year against South Carolina. He rushed for 155 yards this season in a game against Jacksonville State in Week 2. Guice played in Fournette’s place that week after the superstar back got the night off due to the ankle injury.
