College football schedule, Week 6: Saturday TV times, online streaming, and what to watch

Here's your Week 6 college football schedule, with times, channels, streaming info, and watchability for each FBS game.

Week 6's college football Saturday includes four games between ranked teams, a couple big rivalries, and several other ranked teams on the road. We get to find out the SEC's most serious opposition for Alabama, watch Washington take out a whole lot of feelings on Oregon, and watch an FSU-Miami game that could go basically any direction.

Below is the full Saturday (and Sunday!) schedule, organized by time and to show the best games that are on in each slot. I've ranked games by a subjective combo of quality, stakes, competitiveness, and what else is on at the time.

This isn't the biggest weekend of the year, but it's a good one. (They're all good.) The early spot lost some shine when it lost LSU-Florida, but there's still enough to get us through to the pretty loaded middle and late shifts.

Note: several games were adjusted throughout the week by Hurricane Matthew, including the postponed (and likely canceled) LSU-Florida and Georgia-South Carolina, which was postponed to Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

As always, notes on the WATCH THIS games:

  • If you're new to this, you might be tempted to not watch this year's Red River Shootout. Oh no, you always watch the Red River Shootout. I don't care if its participants have lost four games already. Per science, this is one of the country's least predictable rivalries.
  • LSU-Florida has been postponed and possibly canceled.
  • UH-Navy is one of the two or three most challenging games left on a Playoff contender's regular season schedule, and also a revenge spot for the Midshipmen, after last year's beatdown by the Cougars.
  • Tennessee-A&M, the SEC's No. 1 contender match! Bama plays both of these teams between now and Oct. 22, and this game will tell us which one to take slightly more seriously than the other.
  • Do not watch Washington-Oregon in anticipation of a good game. By all measures, the Huskies should stomp the Ducks. Watch to see what it looks like when a resurrected power takes out 12 years of anger on a fading rival. (And, if you're lucky, see the latest evidence that anything can happen in rivalry games! (But probably just the stomping.))
  • FSU-Miami should be a better game than you might expect, if you only look at scores and records. Take a look at this for some convincing. Also, the Canes start wearing their '80s throwbacks as of this weekend. Say no more.
  • Anything in this #Pac12AfterDark/#MountainWestNearMidnight slate is pretty good. I'm picking Wazzu-Stanford as the starting point, but mayhem will find us all either way.
