Arizona State running back had himself a night against Texas Tech on Saturday. By the time the dust settled well after midnight on the East Coast, Ballage had eight touchdowns scored on the night. That's an all-timer.
Ballage did almost all of his damage on the ground, scoring seven touchdowns there. He also caught one from Sun Devil quarterback Manny Wilkins, who's made his own name by jumping over dudes.
Ballage scored his eighth touchdown in particular style, embarrassing a Texas Tech defense that's been bad for years but had, on Saturday, one of its worst outings yet.
Are you kidding?! Kalen Ballage scores his 8th Touchdown in style! https://t.co/AkHFuNxQa3

He finished with 13 carries for 137 yards, plus two catches for 48 more. That's efficiency.
Eight touchdowns ties the record for the most in a game in the sport's top division. If Arizona State hadn't shown some mercy in the final ticks of its 68-55 win – in football, not basketball, by the way – he might have gotten nine.
Here's the FBS-only record book before the season began, though two Division II players and a Division III player have also done it:

Pretty incredible feat. It could be a while until we see it matched again, or maybe Lamar Jackson will just shatter it next week. It's hard to say.
