Stanford's pass interference wasn't called, but it was a textbook takedown

New, comments

This is probably not regulation.

Trailing late in the first half against Stanford on Friday, Kansas State quarterback Jesse Ertz threw for receiver Byron Pringle in the Cardinal end zone. Defensive back Alijah Holder had some real blanket coverage on the play.

That's the best defensive holding/tackling pass interference deal I've seen since that disastrous Giants thing against the 49ers in the playoffs, like 14 years ago. Absolutely textbook.

This was not called a penalty, and Kansas State settled for a field goal.

To be fair to the defensive back here, Pringle put his hands to Holder's face. On the other hand, Holder bumped him just before that. Good, clean fun! (There probably should've been a flag thrown at one or both of these guys.)
