New 2016 bowl projections: 3 of 4 College Football Playoff teams face huge games next

Let's pick who'll play in every bowl game, Playoff and all. We do this every week, so play along!

Well, another week of college football happened, so let's update some stuff. It's still TOO EARLY to be looking at how 2016's bowl games might play out, I'm about to be reminded, but it was even earlier a couple weeks ago, and they didn't stop me then!

Conference play is underway now, which is always helpful. Most bowl games are set up with conference ties, so getting a small sense for those pecking orders always feels like especially useful information.

Plenty of projected games change this week, but the Playoff remains the same for now. Three of these four Playoff teams could change next week, though! Week 5's Louisville-Clemson will decide one spot in there, for a while at least. Maybe the same for Week 5's Washington-Stanford. Michigan's got a tough game in Week 5 too, actually, at home against Wisconsin.

Here are updated projections for all 41 games.

College Football Playoff
Dec. 31, Glendale, AZ
Louisville Michigan Playoff rankings top 4
Dec. 31, Atlanta
Alabama Stanford Playoff rankings top 4
National Championship
Jan. 9, Tampa
Alabama Michigan Fiesta winner vs. Peach winner

Also, Michigan over Ohio State is looking slightly better than it did last week, when I noted it was basically a coin flip choice, to no avail. Folks were upset! I'll repeat OSU could just as easily be in here and will not use a Sharpie at this time.

New Year's Six bowls
Jan. 2, Arlington, TX
Houston Clemson At-large
Jan. 2, Pasadena, CA
Ohio State Washington Big Ten 1 vs. Pac-12 1
Jan. 2, New Orleans
Oklahoma Ole Miss Big 12 1 vs. SEC 1
Dec. 30, Miami
Florida State Tennessee ACC vs. Big Ten/SEC/ND

Clemson, FSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee all looked like they should in Week 4, after varying degrees of shakiness earlier.

The only change in this group this week: Oklahoma in for Baylor. I like OU's schedule better, among other things.

Lots of changes throughout in this bunch.

As always, I apologize for the Pac-12. It's a very hard system to work with, because it's so rigid. The conference should either add more bowls or give itself power and flexibility to distribute teams in groups, like the Big Ten and SEC do.
