In December, Pitt running back James Conner was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. On Saturday, cancer-free, Conner took the field for the Panthers' season opener.
He had a ton of fans on hand to see him, too.

Here’s the moment he led the Panthers out onto the field. Goosebumps.

And in his first game back, he scored the first touchdown of the Panthers’ season.
Chills right now: James Conner gets the first TD of the Pitt season in his return from cancer. #ConnerStrong!!!— Andrea Adelson (@aadelsonESPN) September 3, 2016
He wasn’t done, either!
James Conner gets Pitt's 2nd TD of the game, this one a catch. This half hasn't been pretty, but it's been a hell of a return for No. 24.— Craig Meyer (@CraigMeyerPG) September 3, 2016
This is one of the best stories of the opening weekend of college football, and people are taking notice.
