The UCF Knights are a paltry 1-13 straight up and 3-11 against the spread in their last 14 games overall. The Knights will try to make a game of it as a huge underdog this Saturday on the road against the Michigan Wolverines.
Central Florida is a 35.5-point road underdog in Ann Arbor according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The line opened with Michigan as a 34.5-point favorite, but has moved through the 35 as action has come in on the home chalk.
From 2010 to 2014, the UCF Knights averaged 9.4 wins per season. The team entered 2015 on the heels of back-to-back conference championships and a win in the Fiesta Bowl in 2013. This made last season's 0-12 SU and 2-10 ATS season a complete shocker, and it resulted in head coach George O'Leary's resignation midseason.
The Knights have nowhere to go but up this season, and that was already seen in a 38-0 win and cover last week against South Carolina State.
UCF hasn't fared well as a double-digit underdog of late with an 0-9 SU and 2-7 ATS record in its last nine games as a dog of 10 points or more according to the OddsShark College Football Database.
Betting Line / Total: Michigan -35.5 / 55 Points
Trend: The total has gone OVER in Michigan's last nine games.
Trend: Central Florida is 1-13 SU and 3-11 ATS in its last 14 games.
The Wolverines picked up where they left off last year in their season opener last Saturday, pummeling the Hawaii Warriors 63-3 to cruise to a cover as a 36.5-point favorite.
Michigan shook off a season-opening loss to Utah last season to go 10-2 SU and 7-5 ATS over its last 12 games including a 41-7 win over Florida in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day. The Wolverines are 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight games at the Big House.
Saturday's total is set at 55 points. The OVER is a perfect 9-0 over Michigan's last nine games.
Jim Harbaugh has turned the Wolverines back into a national powerhouse virtually overnight. With the team's first five games all coming at home and another relatively soft game coming next week against Colorado, there isn't much for Michigan to be distracted by looking ahead, which could be bad news for the Knights.
