Les Miles returned to Death Valley and ate grass on the field, and all is well again

Uncle Les is back.

CBS

As part of LSU’s 2007 national title reunion, Les Miles returned to Tiger Stadium, one year after his firing. His final game and his return game both happened to be against Auburn. But we’re not here to talk about that.

WE’RE HERE TO TALK ABOUT LES MILES EATING GRASS ON THE FIELD AT DEATH VALLEY AGAIN.

That’s CBS’ Allie LaForce interviewing Miles on a plate of “only the best grass,” which she describes as coming from all over the field. He explains that one really only needs to eat the roots of the grass and describes his snack as “perfect.”

Just like old times!

And LSU fans were really happy to see him again, in general!

Why does he eat grass?

Just a thing he’s always done! He’s previously explained it as the product of his old baseball position being boring:

"You must have never played right field," said Miles. "That was the dubious distinction I had. Nobody hit the ball out there, and you needed something to do."

Since leaving the LSU job, he’s kept up with his habit.

At the Women’s College World Series:

Delicious.
