Where is the Bahamas Bowl, and how can I watch?

Stadium and city: Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas

Date and time: Dec. 22, 12:30 p.m. ET

TV and streaming: ESPN and WatchESPN

What should I know about the two teams in the Bahamas Bowl?

Ohio (8-4, 5-3 in MAC)

Frank Solich continues to quietly pile up winning seasons. His Bobcats are bowling for the eighth time in the last nine seasons and have now gotten to eight wins three years running. They’ve become one of the most consistent winning bets in the mid-majors.

This year’s Bobcats are fun on offense, if you’re the kind of person who enjoys points scored in large quantities. Their running game grinds defenses to dust and carries the day even when the Bobcats struggle to pass, which they do often.

UAB (8-4, 6-2 in Conference USA)

The Blazers might be the best story in the FBS this year. The school shut down its football program in December 2014 and skipped two whole seasons, then came back this year and made a bowl game. That’s an astonishing feat, given that UAB lost years of practices, years of recruiting, and years of player development associated with actually having a program.

Coach Bill Clark has done excellent work to keep this team together. There’s no easier team to root for this bowl season than the Blazers.
