Texas A&M had a really bad Sunday night. The Aggies blew a 34-point lead and lost on a preposterous fake spike, and a regent called for Kevin Sumlin’s firing right afterward. The Aggies also appear to have lost their starting QB for a while.
Sumlin said on radio show Nick Starkel had surgery on broken ankle & Donovan Wilson had foot surgery. Don't know if will return this season.

Starkel, a 6’3, 215-pound redshirt freshman, got the start in the UCLA opener. He was 6-of-13 passing for 62 yards before hurting his left ankle in the third quarter.
His replacement, four-star true freshman Kellen Mond, went a miserable 3-of-17 in Starkel’s relief. Some of that came during a series before Starkel’s injury.
Mond is uber-talented, but he didn’t throw the ball well enough on Sunday. He totaled 54 rushing yards on 15 carries.
A&M listed three co-starters on its Week 1 depth chart: Starkel, Mond, and senior Jake Hubenak. Sumlin’s got options. What’s less clear is if those are good options, whether Starkel misses the remainder of the season or not.
