We now have early odds for a bunch of the 2018 college football season’s biggest games, by way of the Las Vegas sportsbook at the South Point Hotel.

There are no massive surprises that jump off the page to me. Michigan is favored against Penn State and an underdog against Michigan State, and those are both a bit surprising but largely explainable by one game being at home and the other on the road. Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Ohio State’s a narrow favorite to beat Penn State in Happy Valley.
Tennessee is an underdog against Kentucky, which is sort of jarring until you remember that as 1-point dogs, the Vols actually get a better shake in Vegas than they did for this game last year. In the ACC Atlantic, Clemson’s favored by double-digits against both Louisville and Florida State, two teams who aren’t that far removed from being serious competition.
