Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies hosted the No. 2 Clemson Tigers in Week 2 and pushed them to the limit, failing on a late 2-point conversion attempt to lose the game 28-26 as 12-point home underdogs.
Sophomore quarterback Kellen Mond has been outstanding this season with six passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, and no interceptions. Mond threw for 430 yards and three touchdowns against Clemson’s elite defense. Jimbo Fisher appears to be making an immediate impact on this Texas A&M program.
Fisher hopes that impact carries into more success for his team on the road. Texas A&M is 2-10 ATS in its last 12 road games against teams with winning records.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Another week, another lopsided result. Alabama absolutely crushed Ole Miss on the road last Saturday 62-7, improving to 3-0 SU and ATS on the season while outscoring its opponents 170 to 28.
Tua Tagovailoa has emerged as a clear-cut Heisman contender with eight touchdown passes and no interceptions through Alabama’s first three games. The Crimson Tide are a perfect 20-0 SU in their last 20 games at home with an average margin of victory of 31.8 points per game.
Saturday’s total is set at 61 points. The UNDER is 8-3 in Texas A&M’s last 11 road games according to the OddsShark College Football Database.
Texas A&M is off to an excellent start in 2018, and pushing a team of Clemson’s caliber to a tight fourth quarter finish makes it easy to make a case for the Aggies as such big underdogs in this one.
On the other hand, Alabama is simply playing at another level; with a top quarterback prospect to go along with the top defense in the nation, it’s hard to find a hole in Nick Saban’s well-oiled Crimson Tide machine.
