Steven Jackson Fantasy Update: Jackson Nears The 100-Yard Mark

Steven Jackson rushed for 96 yards on 18 carries as the Rams were easily dispatched by the Packers today. It was Jackson's second game with a full workload since injuring his quad in the season opener.

Last week's bye came at just the right time for Jackson. Dealing with a quad injury, the week off gave him some much needed rest. Jackson has just 124 total yards on 23 carries in three limited appearances this season. Health is the biggest concern, as Jackson has been effective when he has played, averaging 5.4 yards per carry.

Projections place Jackson on the border between a RB2/Flex option in standard leagues. Yahoo! Sports had him as the 19th-best running back heading into Week 6's matchup against the Packers. He could be in Top 10 if only injuries weren't a concern, but alas a heavy toll over the years has made Jackson a risky weekly starter.
