Steven Jackson Fantasy Recap: Monster Day Leads Rams Upset Of Saints

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson put together his best performance of the 2011 season on Sunday as he led the Rams to a stunning upset of the New Orleans Saints. Jackson rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns while hauling in four catches for 32 yards. It was the kind of retro performance Jackson owners have come to know and love over the years.

Jackson has struggled right along with the St. Louis Rams compiling 341 total yards of offense and three touchdowns in the previous six games. He has remained a first or second pick but owners have waited for the big day from Jackson. It finally came in what is a monster win for the struggling Rams.

Steven Jackson's status as one of the elite fantasy football running backs has been teetering this year, but gets a temporary reprieve with that performance. The Rams get a bit of a schedule reprieve over the next four weeks as they get two games with the Arizona Cardinals, a road game against the Cleveland Browns and a home game against the Seattle Seahawks. These provide a wealth of opportunity for Jackson to build on Sunday's strong performance.
