Trent Richardson said that his rib cartilage injury is "much bigger than what folks think it is" following the Cleveland Browns' loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Beacon Journal reports. Richardson finished the game with just eight carries for eight yards, and two receptions for 11 yards.
Richardson damaged the cartilage in his ribs in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He did not play in the second half against the Colts, though Pat Shurmur said after the game that the running back did not suffer a new injury.
Fantasy Impact: The good news is that Richardson apparently did not aggravate anything during the game. He still wasn't/isn't 100 percent, however, and had to be benched due to ineffectiveness on the field.
There is a good chance that Richardson will be able to play next week against the San Diego Chargers, though it remains to be seen just how effective he will be. You will want to keep a sharp eye on injury reports this week, though Richardson may not be a very good fantasy play regardless of health. The Chargers defense is giving up just 3.5 yards per carry this season.
