Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers is listed as inactive versus the Raiders on Sunday.
Flowers also missed the team's Week 4 contest versus the Giants with a knee injury, which he has battled since the early stages of the season. As a result, rookie Marcus Cooper will get another start in his place with Sean Smith starting on the opposite side and Dunta Robinson relegated to slot duties. For the season, Flowers has 24 total tackles, an interception and four broken-up passes in four games.
Fantasy Spin: Though Flowers cannot be placed in the conversation with other shutdown corners across the league, he is the best that the Chiefs have to offer. As a result, things just got a little more open for deep-threat Denarius Moore and quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who could find opportunities to take the top off of a stingy Chiefs defense.
With an ailing backfield consisting of Rashad Jennings and Darren McFadden, the Raiders could lean more on their passing game and place the bulk of the responsibilities on Pryor's shoulders. It's still not an ideal matchup that's been presented to him and his receivers, but Flowers' absence could provide chances they would not have had otherwise.
