Fantasy Football Rankings, Week 12: Wide Receivers for PPR and Standard Leagues

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd and Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson had huge games in Week 11, check out where we rank them in Week 12.

Coming into Week 11, Cardinals WR Michael Floyd had just 36 receptions for 464 yards and two touchdowns, and probably was on most owners' benches this week. However, he had a career best game vs. the Jaguars on Sunday, catching six of his eleven targets for 193 yards and a touchdown, including a 91 yard catch-and-run. Floyd now has caught 42 of his 68 targets for 657 yards and three touchdowns on the season. He will probably be one of the more highly sought wide receivers targeted on the waiver wire this week.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson had another great game on Sunday vs the Steelers, catching six of his thirteen targets for 179 yards and two scores in the Lions 37-27 loss. Johnson now has 59 receptions for 1,083 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season, and is well on his way to eclipsing his career best 16 touchdowns in 2011. He will need to average 131 yards receiving over his last seven games to reach 2,000 receiving yards.

The Buccaneers only threw the ball 25 times in their 41-28 win over the Falcons on Sunday, but nearly half of those targets went to WR Vincent Jackson, who caught ten of his twelve targets for 163 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Jackson now has caught 56 of his 114 targets for 827 yards and five touchdowns. He has three 100+ yard performances in his last six games, and continues to be one of the best fantasy wide receivers in the game.

Falcons WR Harry Douglas continues to be Matt Ryan's favorite target in the Falcons passing game, as he caught six of his nine targets for 134 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-28 loss to the Buccaneers. Over his last five games, Douglas now owns three 100+ yard performances, with two touchdowns over the same time period.

Packers WR Jarrett Boykin probably was not drafted in many leagues this season, but he has made the most of his playing time since Randall Cobb went down. Boykin caught six of his eight targets for 91 yards in the Packers 27-13 loss to the Giants. Boykin has at least 89 yards receiving in four of his last five games, but just one score. The Packers offense is missing Aaron Rodgers in a big way.

Target Practice

The table below lists the wide receivers who have seen the most targets over the last three weeks. I use this table in an effort to find receivers who are becoming a bigger part of their team's passing games.

The receivers who are seeing more passes over the last three weeks are Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe, Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews and the most-targeted receiver, Alshon Jeffery. Jeffery has seen an average of 15 targets over the last three weeks, with 21 receptions for 257 yards and a touchdown.

Bowe has seen 26 targets in his last two games (the Chiefs had a bye in Week 10), and has seen his production increase as well, as he scored his first touchdown since week 4 on Sunday Night Football in Denver. It appears QB Alex Smith is getting more comfortable with Bowe in the Chiefs passing game.

Week 12 Rankings

The table below lists the teams that have given up the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. As you can see, the Cowboys, Vikings and Eagles have been the most receiver-friendly defenses thus far in 2013, so it behooves fantasy owners to consider this when setting their lineups in Week 12.

Here are some wide receivers with favorable match ups in Week 12:

1. Giants vs Cowboys: Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle

2. Packers vs Vikings: Jordy Nelson, Jarrett Boykin, James Jones

3. Texans vs Jaguars: Andre Johnson, DeAndre Hopkins

4. 49ers vs Redskins: Anquan Boldin

5. Saints vs Falcons: Marques Colston, Robert Meacham
