Let's get down to business. Here are some of the running backs that made news over the past week:
Andre Ellington - He is coming off a bye and looks primed to take over as the primary ball carrier for the Cardinals. The rookie is coming off a career game of 154 yards and a score on only 15 carries before the Week 9 bye. Of course, this does come against an inept Atlanta run defense, but it's impressive nonetheless. What's more, he's up to 7.7 yards per carry over the course of the season. The Cardinals use him in the passing game and he's in RB2 territory now.
Keepers Week 10
Steven Jackson - He returned on on Sunday to the tune of 13 carries for 57 yards and three receptions for 19 receiving yards. The Falcons are running out of option in the play-maker department, so S-Jax should have ample opportunity. His schedule isn't the best, but he still has some buy-low appeal.
C.J. Spiller - What in the what? Spiller actually busted out on Sunday against a formidable Chiefs defense, totaling 116 yards on 12 carries. He's not out of the woods yet, but his owners have to be feeling a lot better after only his second 100-yard game.
Jonathan Stewart - He made his season debut on Sunday and it went well. The numbers weren't there, but at least he didn't get hurt. Stewart totaled 43 yards on nine carries to go with three catches for 22 yards. His arrival more or less makes this a hands-off situation with DeAngelo Williams and Mike "The Vulture" Tolbert. He's worth owning, though. They get the 49ers this week, too.
Giovani Bernard - Gio is on the injury report with a rib issue, but he's fine. Start him with confidence, especially in PPR leagues.
Arian Foster - Your guess is as good as mine here. His owners should be preparing to have a backup plan, though.
Lamar Miller - He had a 100-yard game on Thursday, but a stupid fumble might cost him some playing time. Miller's field vision is pretty bad, too. He's a risky play this week and his owners should be watching for quotes from the coaching staff before making a decision. Obviously, the circus around the Dolphins won't help.
Editor's update: Darren Sproles passed his concussion test and practiced Wednesday. We will update the rankings shortly.
Darren Sproles - He sounds like he's going to be out with an ankle sprain and concussion symptoms. It'll be the Pierre Thomas Show this week. Lance Moore is a sneaky PPR play, by the way.
New York Giants - David Wilson sounds like he could be out for the year, but Andre Brown is going to be back. He's a must-add player right now and is worth a look as a play vs. Oakland.
Chris Ivory - He's the man, but is on a bye. Owners will want to make sure he's not floating around on any wires.
Doug Martin - He's likely out again, so Mike James is worth a look as an RB2 against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
