Santanio Holmes injury update: WR questionable, likely game-time decision for fantasy owners

The New York Jets wide receiver is listed as questionable and could miss Sunday's game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Al Bello

New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is listed as questionable and could be heading toward a game-time decision for the team's Week 13 game against the Miami Dolphins. Holmes missed practice on Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Holmes only caught one pass for 12 yards last week against the Baltimore Ravens. Fantasy owners who started him against Baltimore should have been on the prowl for other options well before his this injury news came out. Holmes has already missed five games on the season and hasn't found a way to make a major contribution for owners since Week 3. With only one touchdown on the year, he hasn't proven to be an asset in standard or PPR formats.

With his status up in the air, owners need to have a back-up plan should Holmes not suit up on Sunday. Holmes couldn't be counted on to provide owners with much more than WR4 value. If he does play against Miami, expectations should be even lower with his troublesome hamstring factoring into the mix. Owners should try to avoid this situation if possible. He's a desperation WR4 play if he does take the field in Week 13.
