Knowshon Moreno is 'good' on Sunday for Broncos, fantasy owners

Despite sustaining a bone bruise last week, Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno is expected to play on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications

Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno is expected to start versus the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

Moreno carried the ball 37 times in an overtime slugfest against the New England Patriots on Sunday, but sustained a bone bruise. It was Moreno's career high in carries, eclipsing the mark of 27 he set just a week prior, and also the most a running back has carried the ball in a single game this season. Despite that, Moreno was able to get practices in on Thursday and Friday, and will be good to go versus the Chiefs.

Fantasy Spin: As long as Moreno is on the field, he is a must-start in leagues of all formats after posting 10 touchdowns in 11 games this season. Despite that, a dose of Montee Ball may be in order down the stretch in order to keep their feature-back fresh for a stretch run and beyond, though Ball is only a start this week in deep leagues and touchdown-only formats.

Though the Chiefs defense has built a reputation this season on being a formidable one, they have quietly allowed 4.6 yards per carry and 116 yards on the ground per game this season. Moreno's high-scoring offense always presents a good matchup for him each week, but against a defense that has been susceptible to giving up yards on the ground, fantasy owners can cement Moreno into their lineups. He is an RB2 with RB1 upside.
