New Orleans Saints
Few fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL are a sure fire bet to perform at a high level against a tough opponent like the Saints' Drew Brees. Brees faces a tough opponent in the likes of Richard Sherman and the Seahawks. That said, prior to last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons, Brees had thrown for at least 300 yards passing in four straight games. What an ironic twist it would be if the Seahawks gave up more yards to Brees than the lowly Falcons. Fantasy owners can only hope for that.
If Brees can do that, a big part of the process will no doubt be tight end Jimmy Graham. Graham caught five passes for 100 yards and his 11th touchdown of the season last week. This season, more than ever, it seems Brees is inclined to find Graham and fellow tight end Benjamin Watson for scores. That bodes well for an already elite player like Graham.
Wide receiver Percy Harvin may have seen limited playing time in his first game back from injury last week, but that shouldn't stop fantasy owners from hoping he breaks out big against the Saints. Though the Seahawks defense will no doubt be a challenge for the Saints, quarterback Russell Wilson will need everything Harvin has in order to put points on the board. Harvin only had one catch last week, but he showed spectacular effort hauling in the 17-yard grab. He also showed great speed on a 58-yard kick return.
Perhaps the Seahawks have a decided advantage over the Saints in the running game. Marshawn Lynch has four touchdowns in the team's last two games. Last week's effort with three scores was especially impressive considering he only ran for 54 yards on 17 attempts. The Seahawks and fantasy owners are going to need Lynch to keep scoring if they hope to overcome their opponents in Week 13.
