Jonathan Stewart injury: Panthers RB out for Week 16, no fantasy value

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is out for Week 16, and has no fantasy value going forward.

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart will not play in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints. Stewart is dealing with a knee injury and has missed practice all week. Stewart might play in Week 17, but he'll be inactive for the important playoff matchup this Sunday.

Stewart has played in just six games this season, making his season debut on Nov. 3. He has just 48 carries for 180 yards with no touchdowns on the year, and 44 receiving yards off of seven receptions. Stewart sustained his knee injury against the Saints on Dec. 8.

DeAngelo Williams would give way to Stewart if he were playing, but that won't be the case.

Fantasy Impact: Stewart, again, might play in Week 17 and should be a weapon in the playoffs, but that doesn't matter for fantasy owners. What matters is that he will be inactive for the fantasy football championship in Week 16 and has little to no value in dynasty leagues at this point. Release him, and find a better option this week (which you likely already have).
