New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz will miss Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Cruz underwent knee surgery on Thursday and is also dealing with a concussion. Cruz is likely going to be out for Week 17 as well, and the Giants are not fighting for a playoff spot at this point.
Cruz was injured in Week 15 while trying to haul in a pass. The Seattle Seahawks won that game 23-0, and the Giants had an injured receiver for their troubles. Cruz came down hard on his head going high for the ball, and the reception ended up being overturned as well. Cruz may have lost consciousness on the play.
Fantasy Impact: Cruz is the team's leading receiver, and has four touchdowns on the season. He's been solid for fantasy owners overall, but he's not going to play on Sunday and he should be replaced. Have a backup option ready and cut Cruz if you need to, but he does have value in dynasty leagues as New York's top receiver.
