New York Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle sat out practice Thursday, according to NJ.com beat writer Jordan Raanan. The reason for his absence hasn't been announced yet, but the obvious answer would be an injury for the receiver.
Randle had a good stretch earlier in the season, with six touchdowns in a span of six games Weeks 5-11. Since then, though, he's only totaled 151 yards and 14 fantasy points in Weeks 12-16, derailing what had appeared to be a surprise season.
With Victor Cruz done for the year and Hakeem Nicks struggling at least as much as Randle, Jerrel Jernigan has been the Giants top receiver the last two weeks.
Fantasy impact: Whoever plays wide receiver for the Giants on Sunday stands at least a chance at a strong fantasy day Sunday, with the Washington Redskins and their poor pass defense. Randle owners should keep an eye on Jernigan, as he could fill in for Randle with a nice game in the season closer.
