Fantasy football sit/start advice, Week 14: Andre Johnson

We take a look at whether or not you should start Andre Johnson in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Texans will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a Week 14 contest on Thursday Night Football. Both teams have been relatively poor this season, though one (Jacksonville) was expected to be so and the other (Houston) has fallen so short of expectations it's almost unbelievable.

Still, both teams have their fantasy options, and perhaps the biggest one is Houston wide receiver Andre Johnson. Despite the instability on offense and the ineffectiveness of both Matt Schaub and Case Keenum at the quarterback position, Johnson has put together another very solid season.

That season includes 82 receptions for 1,123 yards and five touchdowns. Johnson had a bad game against the Jaguars last time out, having just 36 yards on two receptions, but he followed that up with a game in which he caught eight passes for 121 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 13.

Fantasy Sit/Start: The Jaguars may have stopped Johnson last time out, but they do not have a very good pass defense. The Jaguars rank No. 23 in the league when it comes to pass defense, and Johnson is simply too good a player to leave on the bench. Owners absolutely should start him every single week, and for what it's worth, Jacksonville is a desirable matchup for any top-flight wide receiver.
