There's no question about it, the Falcons are one of the biggest disappointments of the 2013 fantasy football season. They were suppose to be high-flying in every aspect of their offense. The team boasts perhaps the greatest tight end to ever play football in Tony Gonzalez, two top-notch receivers in Roddy White and Julio Jones and running back Steven Jackson. Going into Week 14, White is your best bet for fantasy production on the team.
White has been slowed by injuries all year long and with Jones out for the year and quarterback Matt Ryan struggling, it made things worse for Roddy. Hopefully both players turned the corner last week against the Buffalo Bills. Ryan threw for more than 300 yards for the first time in more than a month while White caught 10 passes for 143 yards, easily his best stat line of the season.
Green Bay Packers
It has already been confirmed that quarterback Aaron Rodgers (broken collarbone) won't play this week. That leaves Matt Flynn to start against the Falcons this Sunday. Flynn has bounced around different NFL rosters all year long and last week he showed why. He only threw for 139 yards and an interception against the Detroit Lions and looked out of place.
There's no telling whether Flynn will recapture any of the form he ever had or even the solid game he had against the Minnesota Vikings two weeks ago. That leaves the Packers with rookie running back Eddie Lacy to lead the charge and help move the football. Even Lacy has been hit-or-miss lately. In two of the last three games he's been held under 30 yards rushing. And yet, he ran for 110 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings in Week 12. How he does against the Falcons remains to be seen, but he is definitely worth a start.
