Bobby Rainey a rare bright spot in fantasy on Sunday

Old Man Winter is eating offenses alive on Sunday, but at least Bobby Rainey fantasy owners had something positive happen.

Al Messerschmidt

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bobby Rainey broke an 80-yard run on the first drive of the game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Rainey has been quiet outside of that run with just 104 yards on 13 carries.

He was coming in with no momentum over his last two games with just 63 yards on 17 carries  last week and 35 yards on 18 carries in Week 11. Although, those were against two stout defense in the Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions, respectively. Clearly, the matchup against the Bills has helped him.

The Bucs haven't been very effective at moving the ball all year, so it was going to take a big run for Rainey to have a nice day on the stat sheet.

Fantasy impact: On a day which has been a disaster for fantasy offenses, Rainey's big run is gold. A lot fantasy owners are going to get nothing out of Reggie Bush and there are not many players doing anything all over the country. Rainey fantasy owners will want to keep him on the bench next week against the San Francisco 49ers and their terrific front seven
