The New York Jets have some plans for wide receiver Percy Harvin, but are unlikely to immediately use him in a big offensive role. Head coach Rex Ryan confirmed that Harvin will return kicks and possibly some punts, but won't be involved in more than 50 offensive snaps against the Buffalo Bills.
The Jets acquired Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks last week. Harvin happened to get an extra bye week due to the Jets playing on Thursday night in Week 7, but he's still new to the offensive playbook. Harvin had 22 catches for 133 yards in five games with the Seahawks, adding 92 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Fantasy impact: Harvin makes for an intriguing buy-low candidate as he gets acclimated to his new team, but fantasy owners have no real reason to start him right now. He remains a dangerous player with the ball in his hands, but the Jets will need to work on manufacturing touches for him. Harvin is a boom-or-bust WR4 at the moment.
