Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins was a question mark all the way until Sunday morning, as he dealt with a groin injury suffered late in the week in practice, but he was active for the team's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Watkins' injury was evident in Sunday's game, however, as the rookie struggled in the Bills' 17-13 loss.
Watkins was targeted 10 times in the game, but caught only four balls for 27 yards. Coming off 279 yards and three scores combined in his last two games, this was a disappointing performance from the standout rookie, who was outgained by two receivers and two running backs in the team's passing offense.
Fantasy impact: Even when he's not at full strength, Watkins gets loads of targets in the Buffalo offense. Whenever he can get back to 100 percent, Watkins will be a solid WR2 in fantasy rankings. That said, the Bills play their Week 11 game Thursday night, so a hampered Watkins on a short week could be a tough fantasy play. Keep an eye on the reports out of Bills practices this week to check on Watkins' status, and tread lightly.
