Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 11: Joique Bell, Reggie Bush struggle

With Theo Riddick also playing a role in the Detroit backfield, there aren't enough touches to go around. We break down the fantasy implications.

Everyone expected the Detroit Lions' backfield to be a two-headed monster this season, with Joique Bell and Reggie Bush both performing. Sunday, though, seems to have proven that there is a third running back to deal with in that group -- Theo Riddick was the one to score a touchdown, the winning score in the Lions' 20-16 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

None of the three backs did much for fantasy owners even with Riddick's touchdown. Bell had 44 rushing yards on 10 carries and 37 receiving yards on two catches; Bush had 20 rushing yards and 5 receiving; Riddick had only 5 total yards to go with his touchdown.

Fantasy impact: With Calvin Johnson back on the field for the Lions and Golden Tate continuing to produce, there just isn't enough offense to support three running backs. If the Lions continue to use all three, the end result will often be a group of disappointing performances.

If you're going to invest in a single Detroit running back, Bell would seem to be the choice -- he has four different double-digit fantasy days on his record this year, compared to two for Riddick and none for Bush. For now, though, the best bet is to try finding someone else to be your fantasy starter.
