Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 11: Jonathan Stewart, DeAngelo Williams don't do much on MNF

The Carolina Panthers run game floundered on Monday Night Football largely due to ineffectiveness from the offensive line as well as quarterback Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers run game couldn't get much going behind a porous offensive line in an ugly 45-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Jonathan Stewart led the Carolina running backs with 11 carries for 36 yards and a touchdown. DeAngelo Williams had 13 carries for 31 yards while and Fozzy Whittaker added 29 yards on six carries.

Stewart did the majority of his damage in the first half with seven carries for 30 yards and the touchdown. Stewart also added four receptions for 23 yards. Williams and Whittaker were also in the mix but Whittaker's yards came in garbage time. Cam Newton was not only ineffective at quarterback, he was also a non-factor in the run game.

Fantasy impact: Stewart is Carolina's lead back right now. He is averaging 4.0 yards per carry, but he only has two rushing touchdowns on the year. As a group, the Panthers have only five rushing touchdowns and Newton has two of those.

The Panthers' offense was out of sync all game and without garbage time the numbers would be a lot worse. The Panthers have major issues along their offensive line so the run game could sputter at times through the remainder of the year.

Whittaker has looked good when healthy and he could eat into playing time for Stewart and Williams. At the moment, Stewart is the most solid start and he adds value in the passing game as well. Williams and Whittaker aren't roster worthy unless you play in a deep league or are in desperation mode at running back.
