Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 11: Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford has his favorite weapon back. Should fantasy owners start him against the Cardinals?

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford got an early holiday present last Sunday. Receiver Calvin Johnson returned to the lineup and it helped Stafford post a line of 280 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception against a very good Miami Dolphins defense. He was struggling for about a month with underwhelming numbers, and it isn't a surprise to see him turn it around with the best receiver on the planet getting back on the field.

This week, he'll get a curious matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are the toughest defense to run on and have been a middle-of-pack defense against quarterbacks, but they haven't been tested often. In fact, they've gone up against the St. Louis Rams, Dallas Cowboys with Brandon Weeden and Oakland Raiders in three of their last four weeks. Yes, those matchups will certainly help their season averages.

Fantasy impact: The Lions will need Stafford to produce and this is a good matchup for him. He's basically a must-start play for his high ceiling.
